Review: Great horns and very loud! - I bought these to replace the stock horn on my Yamaha XT250. The stock horn is loud, but not as loud as these. It didn't command attention like these do. I proved that out yesterday when a large pickup truck pulled out from across the street and I know he didn't see me until I startled him with the horns! These are larger than the stock horn and mounting them was a challenge, but I mounted them using one of the frame bolts. They don't face forward but I was concerned about blocking too much airflow to the engine. Regardless, they are LOUD AND CLEAR, and the electrical system seems to handle them just fine.
Review: LOUD. High quality. KLR650 replacement with mods. - Purchased as a replacement for my KLR650 horn that's sounding a little tweety and thin. Not a direct swap, this new horn is a little thicker and the threaded mounting shaft is too short so it won't go in the OEM mounting location, but I was able to bend the included mounting tab 90 degrees and there's a mounting screw in the frame next to the stock position, fit in perfectly. Sits about 3/4" higher than stock, wiring terminals are the same as stock, they slipped right on. Oh man, is this thing loud. I might have to put a piece of cardboard or plastic over the top of it to focus the sound forward and away from my ears so I don't startle myself. Seriously, easily twice as loud as the OEM and a thicker, punchier sound. HELLA quality, hella good, hella loud.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will hella 002768821 24v horns to a dc36v/48v battery using a dc24v20a 480w step down transformer be the correct amps and watts for these horns?**
A: Transformers only work with AC not DC.  You could use a voltage regulator or a series resistor to reduce the applied voltage to 24V.  Or, with 48 volts DC you could just wire them in series so that they each get only 24 volts.  The current (amps) will take care of itself (I=V/R), about 5 Amps, I'm told.

**Q: Which prong is power and which is ground?**
A: Does not matter..no polarity.

**Q: Will this fit a 2016 subaru legacy?  please only yes or no.  no shoulds.**
A: This isn't a yes/no question. It'll fit any car so long as you can find a proper place on the frame to mount them. Mine came with only one high-tone horn. I had to find a place to mount the second. Look at videos of others doing it. You may need to drill, and you'll need to run one wire only as the negative runs through the frame.

**Q: why are there two ? can i just install one?**
A: Some vehicles are outfitted with two of these, like my SUV.  Yes, you could install just one, but I find myself wondering why you don't just by a single horn?

I bought these to replace the stock horn on my Yamaha XT250. The stock horn is loud, but not as loud as these. It didn't command attention like these do.
