I applied only two layers to my fingers to avoid a bulky look from the side. I then put on the activator, followed by a top coat for dip powders. I bought a set called Azurebeauty Dip Powder Liquid Set, and I just followed the instructions. After that, I painted my nails. I regularly use gel, so I can’t speak for how well the color sticks for other types. For gel, I skipped the base coat—just buffed the top coat of the dip powder lightly, brushed off debris, applied color, cured, applied color again, cured, then added a shiny gel top coat and cured. I haven't tried it with matte, but I’m sure it’ll work great too. Overall, they turned out really nice for my first time using dip powder, and I love that it’s clear. You can see the color underneath, especially with a clear nail tip. It won’t look clear during the process, but once it’s activated and cured, it looks clear. This dip is game changing for me. I do 2 dips and OMG my nails are solid. I’ll do a quick buff and shape and another dip with quick buff and my nails are straight for weeks. No chipping, no bending, no breaking. Goes on clear so I can leave natural or I paint with my gel polish. My gel polish goes on smooth and last. This dip gives my nails great protection. The whole process dip, file, shape, buff takes me about 15 mins. I’m no professional but not a beginner either. I’m someone that loves keeping my nails long and doing on my own.
