Review: More Crank Bros quality - These are my third pair of Crank Brothers pedals ... I have them on each of my bikes and have been using them without problems for at least a decade. I started with the original 'eggbeaters' which are still in use on my mountain bike. The forerunner of these Candy's went on my first hybrid (on which I've ridden thousands of km), and these Candy 1's have been fitted to my first eBike. They arrive nicely boxed (good enough to be gift wrapped if needed) together with a set of the cleats. Note that these are not interchangeable with SPD-type cleats/pedals. I've done a few hundred kilometres on these and they have performed faultlessly. I expect them to continue for years. Unlike the original eggbeaters, you can only clip into the Candy's on two faces of the pedal, but the connection is secure and the float - determined by the cleats - is more than enough to avoid knee problems. The cleats tend to wear and I've probably replaced a couple of sets over the last decade, but that's a small price to pay for the ease of engaging them and heir mud/much shedding capabilities. I walk around in the mud in my cycling shoes and have had very few problems with them being too clogged to engage. When, or more likely IF, they pack up and wear out I'll buy another pair. Highly recommended.
