Without much more information than that, I decided to check them out. (It was during finals so I had to do something to avoid studying!) I spent at least a few hours going through the archives of this blog called Girl Defined. After those few hours, I was hooked. The things this one website had taught me about myself and God's plan for my womanhood were new and radical in sight of the culture we live in. I saw on the website that they were coming out with a book called Girl Defined and without much more knowledge about the book, pre-ordered it. When it came, I was not disappointed. The book challenged the way I see beauty in myself and others along with how God specifically designed men and women. No longer am I confused about whether to pursue a guy I have an interest in or if I measure up to God's standard of beauty. This book is a great collection of all of the answers to the questions I had about God's plan for my femininity. If you are confused in the slightest about what God's plans are for you and your womanhood (a very easy thing when culture sends so many different messeges), I strongly advise you read this book. Since I and the friends who introduced me to the blog read and enjoyed this book so much, we have started a study on it with the rest of our friend group because we want them to experience the same change in their views that we did. (That's how good this book is!) We have also started an intentional sisterhood like the last chapter of the book encourages. I bought some as gifts for friends. I’ve been a feminist most of my life and I recently have had to be a full time stay at home mom. By far the hardest job I have ever done in my life. I’m not really sure how I worked full time and maintained my house hold before because I don’t have a lot of free time on my hands. Gods design for me is beautiful and I’m proud to be where I am. I know that it’s exactly where I’m supposed to be. I am grateful for the Biblical application and the reality of this world too. It’s the big picture, showing how the little pictures make the big picture work(not sure if that even makes sense). I want to recommend this book to every woman especially those who have daughters. I have 2 and I’m trying to be a good role model. I want them to know that God has a plan for them, and that they are loved. I am so thankful for the value and importance that this book places on being nice to other women. We are not vey loving towards one another. If only we could remember that Jesus is the perfect example of how to live, and the answer! Thank you for sharing this book with me! It really encouraged me to get in the Word daily too.
