I got transparent base plates, printed a picture to put under the plate as a guide then the kids worked to match the bricks to the picture. It worked beautifully as these pieces come in a good variety of colors and they are standard size so they work with other brands of bricks. The issue is the quantity. We kept running out of colors that were needed. 1000 pieces feels like a lot, but when making brick mosaics, having 50 or 60 bricks in each color is just not enough. I wish they offered a scaled up version of this package.
