Both Bluetooth and ANT+ are supported. But after 6 months neither of them work. Despite following the rinsing and washing instructions to-the-letter, the unit began giving inaccurate readings after 5 months and then stopped working altogether. My understanding from numerous reviews and innumerable complaints is that an accumulation of salts from perspiration in the strap is the cause of errant readings, thus the rinsing and washing requirement. I guess Garmin failed to take into account that athletes perspire. The straps are faulty and they render the device useless after a short period of use. **Q: I cant get this to connect to my android phone using strava or garmin connect i dont know why?** A: As of now february 2022 I am able to pair my heart rate monitor up to my android every time like it was new in Bluetooth settings. Then I can use it with my free Strava subscription to get my heart rate information. **Q: What is ant+ mean?** A: Just another form of wireless communication. Some exercise equipment will use ANT+ and show your heart rate on the device. I have a Bowflex Max Trainer - the heart rate monitor will work to my Garmin Approach S60 and the Max Trainer at the same time. **Q: Does this strap transmit running metrics also such as cadence,vertical oscillation and stride length?** A: I have a forerunner 620 and using the HRM-Dual with that I get metrics including cadence, vertical oscillation, and ground contact time.
