This is the "old" version that doesn't have the goofy holes at the bottom of the barrel that blow the rest of the hair that are not wrapped around the barrel. Why they have those holes to blow and dry the hair that we are not curling at the time, I don't know. I do not like the new version--love my old version without those extra holes. **Q: Which one is better this version or the red one?** A: The red one for sure! Ça peut être utilisé très chaud, chaud médium ou frais. Les deux grandeurs de brosses sont parfaites, pas trop gros, pas trop petit. Si j'étais une coiffeuse, je l'utiliserais.
