I have it mounted on my golf cart to hold my Garmin GPS while on the course and have no concern of it coming off and losing my $400 golf toy. However, I remove it when folding my cart and have lost the plastic nut that secures the "holder" to the base not once, but twice. I found it the next day the first time but it was lost for good the second time. This in no way detracts from the quality or performance of the device...both times were on me. I just put this in the comment section to forewarn users to MAKE SURE you screw the plastic nut on securely when done or else you will be ordering another mount just to get the plastic nut.
