The hook is small and fine. Hope this helps. **Q: Will this work on tapestry needles for embroidery or cross stitch.** A: Depends...if memory serves, tapestry needles come in many sizes. Both eyes and length. I use large eyes (worsening eyesight) and 2" length. I assume it probably has a number, but I don't buy enough to know what it is. The threader fits the large eyes with plenty of room to spare. For CCS, depending on how many threads you want to thread, these threaders are tiny, you may need to thread one strand at a time. They are basically for single thread hand sewing so keep that in mind if you want to use multiple strands of thread for a project or want to do embroidery. The hooks are just too tiny for more than a thread. Works great, but a few threaders were bent or defective, the metal hook piece fell right out of threaders when I lifted it to look at it thus the 4 stars instead of 5. Most seem usable though and there are 30 of them so a few defective threaders isn't enough to warrant a return. The large plastic holder makes it easy to hold and it's better than those traditional metal ones with the thin wire that comes out of the threader, breaks or bends plus you have to get the thread through the metal loop, which can close up when pushed through a needle.
