If the dimmer you received has two triggers wires (blue and yellow) then yours is the new version. They both are with p/n 3988. The new version works exactly same and has same waterproof capability as the old version, except a low trigger added. The low trigger gives you an alternative option to trigger LED lights by a ground signal. Both new and old version DO NOT use relays but IC (solid state circuit) to generate PWM signal for dimming. **Q: How do i wire this to a pir motion sensor? i'm guessing i would need a relay of some sort?** A: You don't need a relay as long as your PIR motion sensor is with positive trigger output.
