Review: Makes a great gift idea - This little treasure chest is very well made and far nicer than expected. It's a little heavier than I'd like (weighing about 3lbs.) — it's a gift for my grandson who is a pirate in his school's performance of Peter Pan. I filled it with chocolate gold coins and I think he will love it.

I did remove it for a more realistic look, but then quickly realized why it was there; the hinges are not made large enough to support full opening, due to the solid build and weight of the chest. this is my error, not the makers. so leave the strap in place. **Q: What are the actual "real" dimensions of this?**
A: It’s small, about 6” long and 3 “ wide. It’s ornate and holds about 30 gold pirate coins.  Heavy and breakable.  My grandson loves it!

**Q: If i were to fill it with gold dollar coins how many could it hold ?**
A: Not sure how large the coins are that you are talking about but I got a bag iof gold pirate coins from Party City and about 25 fit easily.  Super chest!
