The durability of the product really depends on the weather, the amount of water used to spray down matter on the surface of the turf. My experience is it usually lasts about two weeks, but again depends on the amount of water applied to the turf. As far as the remnants, I have not noticed any left over or requirement to remove prior applications of this material. The 5 gallon bucket that this product comes in is leak proof and it is recommended you keep the lid on and secure to prevent spoilage/spilling of the product. The odors that was once omnipresent, have dissipated, and the product works well - there's no residual left over once worked into the turf, there is a small amount of deodorant smell to the product, but it is not offensive, and does not overpower your senses. The product itself looks like small kitty litter sand, it's white and grey in color, and easily blends in to the turf.
