For some reason these things can work for ages or fail early & at any second, it's just the nature of the beast it seems, so the possibility of this doesn't phase me. My gun type is still working, but I wanted one for an elderly neighbour who lights range fires with great difficult with matches, and as I know the triggers can be very hard to press & fiddly, I was attracted to this as reviews said it was super easy to use. I can confirm this lighter is amazingly easy to light, with very little pressure, so prefect for an older hand. The people commenting that it's some kind of fire hazard are being ridiculous, it would be like saying you shouldn't have a gas cooker as your house might explode.
