It wasn't great, but it worked fine for a couple of cups of coffee a week until earlier this week. The black plastic piece in the burr cone had broken and would no longer hold the axle so turning the crank did nothing. I started shopping grinders and the better ones are expensive and the ones like this have a lot of negative reviews about them breaking quickly. I didn't want to spend $30 or more for a better grinder, even $15-$25 for another cheap one seemed risky. But then I found this part, so I bought it and it works great! The plastic piece is now white (maybe nylon like the description says) and maybe it will last longer (I've only tried it a few times so far). The grinder works again as well as it has ever worked, maybe better since the new burr is no doubt sharper. Saves money and it beats throwing the old grinder away for a new one (though comes in a GIANT padded envelope, oh well). One difference is the plastic piece is bigger and I'm not sure it can be removed from the burr like my old one, which will prevent cleaning inside the burr where fine grounds get caught. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Excellent Replacement part *by J***L on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 11, 2019* Update, 2-4-2022, After using my have used this replacement part for over 2 1/2 years now and it's still going strong! I only use it 2-3 times a week but that's much longer than the original grinders lasted, just after the grinder warranty ran out.. I purchased 2 of these in the hopes that I could repair several Amado burr grinders that seem to break within a few weeks past the 1 year warranty period. I am very happy that these are being offered as it's such a waste to have a grinder that would last a lifetime with careful use turn useless due to a plastic part. What a waste of resources! I installed them in both of my Amados and they work perfectly. I will update a review in a year on how they have held up. Even is they fail within that period, it's still much less expensive than replacing the whole grinder. I would suggest getting 2 of these so you have a replacement on hand if you need it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A genuine upgrade! *by S***A on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 21, 2019* When I found this, I wondered, would it fit in my (other branded) manual coffee grinder?Yes, yes, yes, precisely so!And the design is improved. By recasting the ceramic grinder interior surface, the plastic insert (now translucent white rather than black) has a cross shape that distributes the rotational torque much more widely.While it took three years for my first grinder to fail (when this plastic insert cracked/split diametrically), it is certainly the only part of the grinder which shows any wear, and this part solves this problem very effectively.I'm so glad it is for sale and I could buy it rather than buying a whole new hand grinder. I did buy a second hand grinder, so now I have two :-).Obviously I like it, although it does take a while to grind the beans--more than a minute I think, although I have not timed it.
