I'm not looking for atomic clock level accuracy here, especially since it will largely be ornamental. Also, that lever that you lift up on the side (on the left in the picture where I am holding it) is a protractor and is used to adjust your latitude (Declination), so, for example, if your latitude is 40 degrees north, you set the protractor to 40. I haven't really needed it since i'm not going for pin-point accuracy, but it is interesting. The axis of the sundial points at the North Star. Note that Sundial time is not the same as standard time or daylight savings time for your location so it seems to be always wrong. The sundial twelve number should be shadowed by the gnommon at local solar noon - (when the sun is due South of your location)... Before railroads and standard time, everyone used local solar time - long days in summer , short ones in winter...
