Review: Works as advertized and speeds up the de-soldering process - I usually use a soldering iron and solder sucker to desolder connections. Thought I would try a combined unit. It took a few minutes to get used to operating the sucker part but after that I noticed it was much faster than using a standalone solder sucker. This can be operated one handed very quickly with out much motion from the pins be de-soldered. A stand alone sucker does a similar thing but requires two hands (iron and sucker) and cycling the sucker takes more motion and time. I think this was a good buy for me since it speeds up the process significantly. I ended up using the small tip for nearly all my use as it just covers an IC pin. Would recommend it to other PCB builders and reworkers.

The suction action is manual -- you push down the plunger, put the tip of the iron of the solder and when you feel it start to melt, you manually hit the button which launches the spring loaded suction. If I had to do hundreds of components, an auto suction would be good, but for occasional DIY work, this works great. Cleaning is pretty straightforward too. There is a small instruction manual that comes with it and it comes with a thing tool to help clean out the tip and channel. At this price, I don't you you'll find a better value that performs as well as this.

**Q: Can I buy a 40 watt model?**
A: I don't think they have a 40w model, however this model works perfect, you place the tip on the solder point a count to 2 and press the switch and done, works every time. Time saver for sure, glad I bought it.

**Q: What is the temperature range?**
A: It is not settable.  It is a plain "plug it in and heats up" iron.  But judging by how fast it melts solder and joints, I'd guess it's on the aggressive side, meaning, up around 700 F.  It melts the joints faster than the temperature-controlled workstation I use on my bench to do my soldering, and that is set at 650 F at the moment.  This thing is hotter than that.

**Q: What’s the highest temp the tool reaches?**
A: I don't know the exact temp it gets to but it melts the types of solder I use just like my soldering iron does.  I does work very well for correcting my mistakes (installed the wrong transistor in...etc).   Didn't want to spend $100+ to get the fancy de-soldering gun.

**Q: How long has it lasted for those who boutght it? Does the plastic melt or burn up where it meets the metal?**
A: No, the plastic does not melt, and I used mine multiple times to fix a subwoofer amp board, and it worked great.  Given its low price, what to ask for more? - there's amb board fixing channel on YT and the author was telling others you have to spend tons of money ($400+) for a desolder to do the work, and this one cost 1/10 of the price and did the job for me.  I was glad that I bought this one instead of spending $400 or more for other types.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent entry level product

First off, it works perfectly fine... at first. I'd say it's a great entry level desoldering tool. I could easily remove 40 pin DIP devices with this tool. It's simple to use. However, it is prone to getting clogged and then the suction goes way down. Having said that, it is easy to take apart. Get used to taking it apart - you will be needing to tear it down periodically. Take the suction assembly all apart. Clean out all the solder. Use vasoline on the silicone sealing ring. Then it'll work again, just like new. Keep using it until it breaks again. Clean it again. It might mess up every 60 to 70 holes. YMMV. But, what more can you ask for out of a product at this price point? I'm happy with it. I only gave it four stars because the need to thoroughly clean it is a little annoying. But, getting a decent desoldering gun for this price is not annoying.
