It isn't huge or anything but for a home kitchen it's still more than enough. I don't even bother with a pepper mill anymore. Just throw a few pepper corns in this and in a couple seconds I have perfectly cracked or ground pepper without giving myself carpal tunnel. I don't even bother with my electric spice grinder anymore because this is somehow faster and does a better job. The only issue I've seen is that after grinding fresh herbs into a paste, it is stained green inside. But that is a problem I assume any one of these will have. It's nice and deep which was what I was recommended by my friend, the depth helps keep all the splashing contained. It's also really well pricedI only have one complaint about the shipping, which is probably amazon's fault as it was shipped by prime... This was a HEAVY item, and it was just in an amazon box with a bubble thing that did absolutely nothing to prevent it from flying around inside the box. Thank goodness the product inside is packaged well that it survived in one piece, but all the banging it must have done during shipment broke one side of the product box.I really have no complaints about the actual product so far.
