They are like non-scratching scrubby pads. I love them. They clean without holding the food - ie, oatmeal, scrambled egg residue - easy to rinse and reuse. It takes a long time for them to get a little stinky, and when they do I throw them in the wash with heavy clothes, like jeans. They come out clean and fresh and ready to go. They don't scratch my pans or my stainless steel sink, which I use them on daily. Have a small commercial kitchen and have been through several different kinds of wash tags. These work great on all our dishes, especially the stainless steel. Does not hold odors or mildew. Works on the plastic stuff, but I prefer a soft dish rag for those items. This is not an absorbent material. Works great submerged in dish water. Takes milk residue off easily, and nothing sticks to it. Used to use the green pads. They hold onto food too much and grow moldy. They are great for few uses, but get nasty. Not these!
