Is the 15LB (0.14mm) equivalent to 12LB Mono? Is that correct?** A: are you going bass fishing? with that 15 pound? even though i wasnt happy with the spec they gave out. in general braided line is much better than mono. im guessing the breaking strength would be like around 10 to 12 pounds for a 15 pound braided line. so i would buy a slighter stronger line to be safe.and also you should tie on mono leader so in case your line got stuck on something the mono would break first and you wont lose your whole braided line.if your using a 15 pound braid ,put on a 10 pound monon leader. and the mono also gives the line some stretch so you don't rip the hook out of fish mouth. ps. these braided line are still much thiner than the mono line what you would buy. but if you want real high quality braided line i would buy power pro braided line. they have some really thin fishing line. like a 20 pound mono is equivalent a 45 pound test braided from power pro. however, these line are much more expensive. **Q: Are there issues of the color leaching off the KastKing onto leading lines? This'll be reel backing and don't want it to bleed onto fly line.** A: You know, I've just started baitcasting and I'm using SuperPower Braid by KastKing. I'm using several casting rods and a couple of spinning rods. On the casting rods I'm using Lo Vis Gray 25# and Moss Green 25#. My experience has been more dry casting in my driveway practicing so far, with some pond fishing while I get the rods dialed in and work on my casts. Landed a number of 1 - 3 lb. largemouth bass too, happy to say. Whew! Bleeding: what I have found is that the lines both bleed. But, the worst of it is when they are dry. Dry lines are horrible to bleed. But once wet, it's not bad at all after a few casts. Yes, they both with bleach in the water after a bit, but not bleed all over my hands or clothes like the dry casting. Now, I'm sorry I can't speak to use as backing yet. I can however say that what these other folks have said about the the braid being a great line for the price echoes my experience so far. If you are going to try the line for backing, it might be worth your time to try casting it a few times to wet it first. YMMV with the bleed, but I have found it to be good line. Hope this helps.
