I bought a few of these hunter rotary side strips and found them a world apart in construction, coverage and precision. Then I replaced the rest, except for a small corner, where I could reduce the flow of a traditional nozzle to a small corner area. The good news is that I am no longer spraying into the driveway to get coverage of the edges. Secondly, the heads pop up readily because they apparently call for less water to get greater coverage. As a result this experience, I have also replaced the traditional spray heads in my flower beds with MP 1000 rotary nozzles. If you are like me, you will find that you need fewer heads for the same coverage. I am still fine tuning run time durations, but I think these rotary heads are an evolutionary improvement for many applications. I'm finding that they need longer run times to lay down the same volume of water, but my heads all pop up readily. Temperatures are close to ninety, the grass is green, and I'm not watching gallons of water run into the gutter in front of my house. Highly recommended.
