Review: My dog loves these things! - My dog loves these bones (even though she will eat it eventually and I know that's not ideal). This was heavy duty and the corkscrew bends on this one made it fun for her. She is a true fan. This will last her a good couple months. It was a nice, large size and not priced too high either. Are they safe and the best option? Probably not but I do stay close by and she loves her chewing sessions with it.

After it has been chewed, the surface does get prickly, so I'd recommend being cautious not to step on it in your bare feet!

**Q: Do these have a fishy smell?**
A: No the benebone fishbone is shaped like a fish, but luckily is NOT fish smelled.  I have 4 dogs who love this new shape benebone. I will definitely buy again soon. Labradoodle, 2 lab mixes and a little terrier mix; all 4 dogs have decided this is the best chew toy.

**Q: How do you know when it is time to replace them?**
A: I've had one over a year now and I haven't replaced it yet. My dog is an aggressive chewer and this thing is lasting! I've bought more than one only because she misplaces them around the house. I guess I will replace it when it gets small enough to become a choking hazard, but I honestly can't see that happening for another year or two. I highly recommend this for your dog. I have a boxer and she actually chews it and tires herself out. This is the best chew toy ever and we've had several different types!

**Q: Is this vegan?**
A: No, not vegan. But with all due respect, neither is a dog. It's made of nylon impregnated with salmon flavor, but doesn't stink like fish. your dog will love it!

**Q: Can it be microwaved to soften it?**
A: This product holds up to aggressive chewers. If you want a softer product, there are many choices for you. I don't recommend microwaving this.

The dogs love them and are very durable! I recommended to a friend who has a strong chewer and his dog loves them too. They like all varieties but particularly the fish flavored ones. Any kind of chew toy made out of any cloth even cordura is ripped up in minutes but they chew on these for hours.
