The term for that is nps. The term npt is a tapered thread. I was never able to find an NPS fitting. But what I found that works perfectly is a 2-in to 3/4 in threaded bushing both threads being npt. But you have to be certain that there's an inch of thread on the 2-in fitting side. Then it will screw in and just barely tighten as it bottoms out. And with the right Teflon tape or possibly RTV sealant it will not leak. Consider the height of the tank is about 4 ft high. And water pressure is approximately 1 lb per square inch for every foot of height. Therefore the pressure at the fitting will be around 2 psi. So it doesn't take an awful lot of sealant or anything to make that perfectly tight. **Q: Can i buy a. replacement lid, i lost mine** A: Contact Cherokee Truck Equipment. They are very helpful and if it's available they'll either have it or know where you can get it.
