Maybe they mean the color is gold plated. **Q: What is the size of this?** A: It is approximately 1/2". I bought this for my sister who has tiny ear lobes and it was visible. The lifters were visible under the ear lobes. I turned them upside down to make it a bit stylish and it did look a bit better. I have not tried it myself yet. **Q: Do you have screw on** A: No, I do not have screw on I do have a pair of backs that need to be squeezed and put on and squeezed to take off.
