On my 18' boat the cable reaches from the bow all the way back to the stern transom mount location with some extra length. The installation manual states "If your transducer cable is not long enough to reach the chartplotter, you can add an extension cable (Garmin part number 010-11617-42 or 010-11617-32, not included).
