You lift up the mold after compressing the rice. **Q: can you clean this in the washing machine?** A: I prefer hand washing because it does have corners where sticky rice does stick to it, but otherwise it can be washed in the dish washer **Q: Can this be used for nigiri? 2 fingers of rice compressed with a layer of raw fish on top?** A: Yes it can be used for any topping. I used Rice ,Spam,and kimchee tasted delicious. **Q: What are the dimentions of the mold?** A: I don’t know the exact measurements, BUT it is the exact size of a slice of spam.
