Very disappointed in this product. **Q: How do you fill this without spills and big messes?** A: I use a Pitcher and just pour it in ! **Q: How do you clean it? (Especially after a beverage such as hot chocolate?)** A: One side at a time (or you'll have water everywhere). Fill with warm soapy water, then pump all of it through to clean out the tube parts - you MUST clean it out immediately after use, especially if you are using it with anything with dairy. Honestly though, the best option is to only use it with hot water and mix the hot cocoa one cup at a time. **Q: Does the whole top come off to clean?** A: No it does not. I bought it with the intention of using it on our Camping trips so the kids wouldn't make a mess and really had no expectations for it. Well we got to use it this past weekend for a birthday party, no messes and the kids were able to fill their own glasses. I will definitely be using this much more often than originally intended and I can see their being many uses for this. I wanted to test using the hot and cold so I know for our next camping trip if I would be able to use one side for coffe/cocoa or just have hot water in there if we wanted to make tea or something throughout the day as mornings here are still a bit cool, and one side with ice tea or something that stays cool well I am happy to say that I left one side filled with boiling hot water and the other cold water and the thermal kept the temp for the hot hot and the cold cold.
