The kit says it comes with 3 3V lamps and 3 2.5V lamps, but there is no way to tell which bulb is for which voltage. One of the bulbs that came with the kit was non-functional. I was surprised that the ammeter, on the 0.6A scale, seems to have a resistance as high as 2 ohms or so. The voltage drop across that resistance can really affect the operation of circuits when the ammeter is inserted. The instructions are pretty reasonable for a lot of the experiments but the level is definitely uneven. If you already understand electricity, you'll easily be able to know what to do and how to explain it, but otherwise in some cases you may be a little mystified. Also, there is a piece with two LEDs in it that is never used in any experiments. That said, it come with a number of neat devices for a child to wire up. The bell, and open frame motor are favorites of my toddler. The bell is great in that it is NOT a legit bell. I had a real one when I was a kid and it was absolutely deafening. This one is much more pleasant. The storage box is actually usable. If you throw away the internal tray, everything fits without perfect placement. Overall we're happy with it.
