Review: Impressive beginnings ... and Meaco comparison - I often feel it's very early to review such purchases. But given I have a comparison to make [replacing the ridiculously noisy* Meaco 12L Low Energy Platinum Dehumidifier] immediately, I'll throw in my initial thoughts. *Now 3+ years old and seemingly rattled itself to deaf [pun intended]! Happily, the first thing I notice is the relatively blissful silent running. Of course, no condenser is actually Silent [despite the setting's name!], but it's considerably quieter than the Meaco - which even at its peak performance conspicuously lurched into life when it went from fan-->condenser and caused notable vibration through the floor to the room's below. So, noise overall? Silent is pretty quiet. Even sitting right next to it [on the computer now] the whirl is okay - and in the bedroom 15ft away it's barely noticeable, with no vibration through the floor either [perhaps due to the castors lifting it from the floor?]. Medium setting picks up the noise level - but it's all fan noise rather than any motor/vibration. Similarly, Turbo gets pretty lively, but it's all fan noise again. And the fact that you can choose the settings makes all the difference ... sitting next to the unit/at night, flick it to Silent and all good. [In the living room you could always hear the Meaco running, when the Inventor is on Silent you can't.] At all settings moisture extraction is exceptional. Again, finding moisture the tired Meaco is no longer removing, perhaps? Setting relative humidity manually to 55%, the Meaco would often fall silent, seemingly satiated. So far, the Inventor has rarely turned itself of at 55% setting - continually extracting moisture from the air. [Note: this might be down to setting the fan speed on Silent/Low the majority of the time, of course.] One minor niggle, so far. Heat bioproduct. It might only be marginal, but it can noticeably affect the room temperature over time with it running continuously. [Put it this way, if I could turn the ancient radiator off in this room, I would!] To clarify ... this is a two-bed semi with upstairs bathroom between, a short landing and open staircase; the unit sits just inside the rear bedroom which has no door. Heat always rises - but with the Hive thermostat downstairs set to 20.5C - the temperature in this room can easily rise to almost 25C, which is pretty warm. [Note: it's always warmer in this room due to the open staircase/heat rising, though.] I've only had the unit for a week, so still playing with the settings. I dare say, allowing it to be on Medium and/or Turbo for longer periods would presumably affect the machine's running time and, therefore, the warm air generation. Having said that, it's hard to imagine the Smart setting ever turning itself off in here, when it's looking for 45C-55C?!! [e.g. It's sat next to me and been on Turbo for a good fifteen minutes and the reading keeps dancing between 55C and 56C and has yet to turn off.] Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Dryer mode worked really impressively. In fact, overnight on Silent dried the adjacent damp clothes [hung from the door frame] really well, too. Finally ... manoeuvrability is really good [the castors a welcome addition, as it's quite a heavy unit]. Detaching the tank is a wee bit fiddly - but you'd probably get used to it - although the handle is perfectly balanced, so even when full you shouldn't spill the contents. Wi-Fi connectivity. Is it really necessary? I haven't used it much - and probably won't in this relatively small space where you're always passing the unit. And, lastly, while nobody likely buys such a unit for appearance, it actually looks pretty good, too.
Review: Amazing little unit. - This unit is currently saving me from the horrendous damp winter months! It works fantastically well, it is very well put together and feels nice and sturdy. I had some issues with not using the heating as much where the rooms were getting very damp, and opening the windows when it was often 95% humidity outside doesn't exactly help so I needed something better. I bought this unit and it arrived in perfect condition, popped it in the worst room and left it on continuous MAX fan mode for a few days and was honestly absolutely stunned at the sheer amount of water it was pulling out of the air. No wonder I had Humidity and damp issues! After a few weeks of blasting it throughout the house and sucking out the moisture the entire house feels so much more comfy, the colder nights now don't feel anywhere near as baltic as they did before because the air is no longer like breathing ice. I now just keep it going on it's Smart mode which reads the temperature of the room and adjusts the humidity to keep the comfort just right. Noise wise, I don't mind it. I quite like white noise anyway so I can happily sleep with it on full blast all night long without issue, when it's on it's Min and Medium settings it's quite quiet, when it's on the MAX mode it's a little bit noisy but no more than say an Air Conditioner might be. It doesn't mention it anywhere in the paperwork or documentation or even on the sales blurb above but it has Alexa voice control as well, just download the Inventor App for your phone and the Inventor Alexa Skill and it just all connects up! (No idea why they didn't put that as a feature, it's quite handy!) It wasn't my first choice as I was going to buy others but for some reason every single one I looked at was sold out, must be a lot of people in my boat this winter, but I am actually glad it pushed me to get this slightly more expensive model because it is just absolutely fantastic.

## Features

- EASY TO SET DESIRED HUMIDITY + INVENTOR CONTROL APP: easy-to-use digital controls & a clear LED display, adjusting humidity levels and settings providing a breeze, allowing them to continually monitor indoor humidity levels and maintain an ideal comfort zone. Control using the app on your phone, compatible with desertcart Alexa and Google Assistant. Set weekly schedules, temperatures and modes.
- WHISPER QUIET DEHUMIDIFICATION: This dehumidifier for home employs silent compressor technology, producing a working sound lower than 41dB, quieter than a library in your room. Activate night mode for a tranquil, undisturbed night's rest.
- SIMPLE OPERATION WITH DIGITAL DISPLAY: The dehumidifier features three modes(high/low/silent) to tackle more situations. A digital display shows the current humidity to help you adjust the % you want to achieve. The high mode is suitable for 65%~80% humidity, while the low one is for 45%～65% humidity. A: Drain pipe dimensions: Inner hole 1.4 cm, Outer hole 1.6 cm, Total length 60 cm. The power cable is 1.5m long.

**Q: Will I be able to use this in an empty property with no internet? Does it work with Apple Home?**
A: You will not have access to the Smart features, but all other functions are available and fully operational. Keep in mind that the Inventor Control app is only compatible with Google Assistance & Amazon Alexa.

**Q: When drying laundry on a maiden should the filter side be facing the laundry?**

**Q: Is this model a compressor or desiccant? Does the handle come off the tank to be able to clean it?**
A: It is a compressor-bult in unit. Its tank volume is 3 Liters. The handle should remain on the tank.

**Q: What is Continuous Drainage?**
A: All portable dehumidifiers for domestic use have a water collection container. To empty the container daily, most portable dehumidifiers are designed to allow the water to be drained directly as it is collected. This is known as continuous drainage.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It really works
*by J***N on 9 November 2024*

Bought this product after looking through reviews on which and still wanting good value for money and smart features. I'm extremely impressed. Originally looking for a dehumidifier because my house generally holds high humidity, tried some of the smaller ones and although they clearly work (water is collected) they weren't bringing the actual humidity levels down much.... So, I bit the bullet and went for something a little more heavy duty. From turning it on, on day 1 and seeing how much this collected in an hour I was mightily impressed with noticeable improvements in humidity levels (I have sensors in every room in the house). We are having the downstairs remodelled (4 rooms and had just had everything plastered), put this downstairs and it has dried out all the rooms in just a couple of days rather than normally waiting weeks! Couldn't be happier and the smart features are pretty good. I actually installed it to the smartlife app rather than the inventor one because I can then see it straight away through home assistant. Excellent design, functionality, looks and cost make this an amazing little unit!
