## Description

3/8" Carbon Steel NPT Tap and 37/64" HSS Drill Bit Set, 3/8" NPTTap information: Drill America dwtpt Series Qualtech carbon steel pipe Tap is designed to clean and/or re-thread damaged or jam pipe threads. It is appropriate for Threading a wide variety of materials both ferrous and non-ferrous. The nominal size of a pipe Tap is that of the pipe fitting to be tapped, not the actual size of the Tap. The thread tapers 3/4 of an inch per foot. All pipe taps furnished with a 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 thread chamfer. Npt threads require the use of a sealer like Teflon tape or pipe compound. Uncoated tools feature just the base substrate without any additional treatment or coatings and are suitable for a wide range of applications. Round with square end shank. Straight flute tools allow chips to collect in the flutes as they cut and are well suited for most applications in Shallow cuts. Right-Hand cut tools have a cutting action that engages when they are run in a clockwise direction. Drill bit information: Drill America dwdn Series high speed drill bit is a dependable, general purpose drill designed to perform in a broad range of materials in the iron and steel families. Ideal for production, maintenance or portable drilling jobs. Surface treated with abrasion-resistant black oxide. Black oxide treatment adds lubricity and creates small pockets on the surface of the tool that Act to hold coolant near the cutting edge. Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of tool holding systems. When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging.

Review: Worked great on a 2003 MK4 jetta aluminum rear caliper bleeder screw issue. - Good price, needed the tap to make new threads in a aluminum caliper for a bleeder screw repair kit. Turns out I didnt need the drill bit as the hole was the perfect size , just ran the tap down to the bottom of the hole , installed the repair kit , worked for me. The drill bit is still great to have if you need to drill out some other kind of caliper or whatever needs a repair kit etc.

**Q: Can I use this to drill to a pvc?**
A: you can drill  PVC with it   however if you try to tap sch 40 PVC it might not give you enough thread for any strength,   I would drill and tap sch 80 PVC  which has the same outside diameter of sch 40

Good price, needed the tap to make new threads in a aluminum caliper for a bleeder screw repair kit. Turns out I didnt need the drill bit as the hole was the perfect size , just ran the tap down to the bottom of the hole , installed the repair kit , worked for me. The drill bit is still great to have if you need to drill out some other kind of caliper or whatever needs a repair kit etc.

These work Great. This isn't a 5-minute job You must be very careful slow and steady and kept the tap clean when using it. Working in and out numerous times backing out and putting in very good price for the size.
