## Description

Simon Sinek sparked a movement with his bestsellers START WITH WHY and LEADERS EAT LAST. Now this beautifully illustrated book will inspire more readers to ask for help, help others, and discover their own courage through a charming story about change. Life is a series of choices. Do we go left or right? Jump forward or hold back? Sometimes our choices work out for the better…and sometimes they don’t. But there is one choice, regardless of every other decision, that profoundly affects how we feel about our journey: Do we go alone or do we go together? It is the courageous few who ask for help. It is the giving few willing to help others. We can all find the courage we need and know the joy of service – the minute we learn that together is better. Filled with inspiring quotes, this richly illustrated fable tells a delightful story of three kids who go on a journey to a new playground and take a stand for what they believe. The story is a metaphor for anyone looking to make a change or wondering how to pursue their dreams. And the message is simple: relationships – real, human relationships – really, really matter. The stronger our relationships, the stronger the bonds of trust and cooperation, the more we can accomplish and the more joy and fulfillment we get from our work and personal lives. The three heroes are archetypes who represent us all at various points in our lives. Their main challenge is the same one we face every day: How can we find the things we’re looking for? According to Sinek, if we each do our part to help advance a shared vision, we can build the world we imagine. In addition to the story itself, Sinek shares such profound lessons as: · A team is not a group of people that work together. A team is a group of people that trust each other. · Fight against something and we focus on the thing we hate. Fight for something and we focus on the thing we love. · Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion. · A star wants to see himself rise to the top. A leader wants to see those around him become stars. Together is Better was designed to be given as a gift to someone you want to inspire, or to say thank you to someone who inspires you. It's completely different from Sinek's previous work. It may look like a children's book, but it's definitely for adults. This book includes a special page featuring the Scent of Optimism.

Review: A Short, Uplifting Read with a Message That Sticks - Together Is Better is a quick read, but it packs a surprising amount of inspiration into such a small book. It’s full of short messages, simple drawings, and little reminders about leadership, teamwork, and choosing to walk through life with people who lift you up. Even though it’s light and easy to get through, the ideas stay with you. What I enjoyed most is that the book feels encouraging without being preachy. Each page has a motivational quote or concept that makes you stop and think about the kind of team you want to be part of — at work, at home, or in everyday life. It’s the kind of book you can flip open at random and still get something out of it. If there’s a downside, it’s that it’s very simple. If you’re looking for deep explanations or longer stories, this isn’t that type of book. But for what it is — a little boost of positivity and perspective — it nails it. Overall, I think it’s a meaningful, uplifting read. Short, thoughtful, and a good reminder that life really is better when we choose to move forward together.
Review: Concepts can be used in work, home, marriage, etc. - I saw a quote in a work email about people debating whether the glass is half full or empty, and how those people are missing the point, the glass is refillable... I was curious hand looked into the person that gave the quote. I was immediately inspired by the author, Simon Sinek. I bought this book to help inspire my husband. He’s 49 this year with a bachelors degree but hates his job. His degree did not end up putting him in the direction he wanted. He has talked about going back for a masters, but it’s been all talk as he continues to struggle with motivation because of fear. I introduced him to the Ted Talk to finding your why... and within an hour he came up with a great and deep why. I bought this book for our 18th anniversary today, in May will be out 11th married. We are a team, and our company is our home. So this book can be seen in so many lights. Whether it’s your team at work, your team at home, your team of friends, your college team, etc... I hope he loves it, as this may have been the most thoughtful gift that comes straight from my heart. I just ordered a second book for my 19 year old daughter, that grew up with her father. She lacked the kind of love and support a parent should give until she was 15 when we found each other... yes, I hadn’t seen her for 9 years... anyway, she wants to do college alone, and I think it’s great... but I have also been opening her up to new ideas and to being able to accept support. She listens and loves when I can show her new ways to ease her mind, and I think this will be a great addition to her college apartment.
