100pcs CD 14 6" Pretabbed Wicks-CD wick is a flat braided cotton wick with paper threads woven into the cotton. The reinforced construction of the wick is designed to ensure a consistent burn with higher fragrance loads, especially with softer, more viscous natural waxes. The superior rigidity of CD wick allows the wick to stand up straighter for easier pours and keeps the wick upright in a deep melt pool. Note: Any carbon buildup should be removed once the wick is extinguished. CD wicks are lead and zinc free.

A: Yes,it can work for gel candles.thanks.

**Q: What's the diameter of these wicks?**
A: There are several sizes.  On their page on Amazon they tell you the width of a container and the appropriate wick (#4, #6 etc.).  This is what I used when I ordered. They are very nice wicks.

**Q: Anyone else have a bunch of loose, white powder in the wick bag? If so, what is it??**
A: Mine didn’t. Does it feel waxy? If so it may be wax crumbling off the wick.

I've been making candles for over 5 years. Recently, there has been a shortage of certain wicks. I really needed some CD-18's for my soy candles. As a last resort, I looked on Amazon and found these. The comments had me somewhat worried, but I was desperate, so I placed an order. I used these in making 3" candle tins using 464 wax. I must say, I got a great melt pool and really good hot throw. Maybe I got lucky -- I don't know. But these wicks worked well for me. They did come in a bag clearly marked "CD-18".
