I have 2 returns, 1 above the other, that have a threaded union, so...I bought 3 (one for a spare). Put several wraps of teflon tape around the male end of the light and screwed it right in to the return fittings. Not the brightest lights, for sure, but I can see the opposite end of the 15×30 oval pool, dimly lit.After a couple of weeks, one stopped working, so I just unscrewed the light, removed a small pine needle from the impeller, put it back in and VIOLA!!! Still works just like new. No fuss, no mess, no bother.For the money, you can't beat 'em, IMHO.Update:8/12/2019I guess I spoke too soon, so I've revised my 5 star rating down to three stars.A week after I posted the first review, one light quit working. Removed it, but nothing was jammed in the impeller. Removed it, put in the spare (no.3), and it's not working well. Lights flash on and off and won't stay on.Guess I'll have to ask for a refund or replacement. The quality assurance team in manufacturing need to be fired. No batteries needed. Gives a lot of light.Be aware that these lights won't last the whole season if used daily. I put them on jets only when needed. Great for night swims...If you need accent lighting for pool at night.
