So far, it seems to be working well. I first adjusted the whistle to the pitch that got their attention the quickest. I had a neighbor come knock on my door three separate times...(at about 5 minute intervals) to test the results. She knocked the first time and the boys barked. I blew the whistle and immediately said "no barking" in a calm voice. They looked at me and stopped barking instantaneously. When she knocked the second time, only one of my 2 little dogs made a tiny "gurr, woof" the other boy was quiet. I blew the whistle again and used the same command, there was silence. After the third knock, all I did was say no bark, neither one of them made a sound. I gave them each a treat and praised them for being good boys. I'm sure over the course of the next few days, my guys will need reminders and that is to be expected...it takes patience and consistency to help our fuzzy kids learn (just as it does the non fuzzy kind).The whistle itself is nice and the locking nut stays securely in position. I love the cute doggy lanyard...it's adorable.
