It's unlikely that the manufacturer is following ostriches around and collecting shed feathers. **Q: Can you attach a longer handle to this** A: Sure you can. Any number of ways to do it. Probably the best and securest for the amount of effort is to (assuming wood construction) get a dowel, 3/8"-1/2" x 6" long should work fine depending on the diameter of the handle. Then, drill a matching hole into the center of both the handle and extension. Apply glue* and just to be darn sure put a brad (a small finishing nail) into each end. Let it set for 24"s just to be sure and you'll be good to go! * My choice would be a 2 part epoxy. But about any liquid type glue will work. Best choices would be a "Gorilla glue" (I'd go with the non-foaming variety), any wood glue, or even a "super glue" as long as you worked fast! **Q: Where is this made?** A: I don't know. The product has no markings of origin and I threw away the tag. I assumed China when I purchased it.
