In other words, can you take out that plactic insert and the hole is larger? I believe your discription answered my question.** A: I believe that it is a real movie reel that can be used on a projector. It is plastic. Yes the plastic can be removed. It was placed there for shipping. I have not and plan not to use it for that. I'm using it as a prop decorations for a movie theme party. Hope that this helps. **Q: Will Super8 film fit on these reels?** A: Yes super 8 film will fit on an 8mm reel. Just remove the center adapter to play reel on a super 8 projector. **Q: I have a super 8mm movie project machine and needs to buy some films with sound for that machine. Who sales those movies?.Please respond. Thanks** A: YES YES YES… there is SUPER 8mm SOUND Films and Projectors. And Walt Disney use to sell them, I purchase 2 in 1977 at Florida Disney (PETER PAN and Snow White) very expensive at that time!! It was 20 minutes of film, not the entire movie. The Projector that I use is the (BOLEX SP 8E Magnetic Sound Projector) There are many from other manufacturers like KODAK. I use BOLEX for it was made in SVITZERLAND for they make highly precision product like watches. I still own 5 sound projectors with sound that I transferred over 10000 feet of home movies films with sound to DIGITAL 1080P format. It takes a lot of patient and knowledge, unless you own a (special conversion projectors) that cost thousand dollars. And still you need time, and a lot of it.
