I haven’t work knee/shin guards in years. These fit well and did not slide down my legs. Unanticipated benefit was they protected my skins and calves from “pedal bite” that I get from my flats. No breeze on my legs so they felt warmer but I was sweating in Southeast US heat and humidity anyway. Worth the peace of mind knowing I had some protection. Padres were easy to remove for washing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really Great Balance of Comfort and Protection for Trail Riding *by on Reviewed in the United States June 18, 2023* This is my first set of MTB knee pads. Though I'm not a beginner rider. I looked at Evo, REI and my local bike shops to find a set that I really liked. It came down to two pads, these Fox pads and the POC VPD Air 2.0. So I decided to buy both. Wore them around the house and gave them a quick pedal around the neighborhood.The POC's might even be slightly higher quality in their construction, though both look to be well built pieces of kit. The POC pads were rather bulky though by comparison to these Fox pads. As soon as I put these on, I knew they were the ones. They are extremely comfortable (for pads mind you) and I have no issues wearing them for an hour long climb up a fire road. The protection is slim but hardens upon impact and should handle most impacts without issue.I enjoy their length of both the spandex type material and the actual pad. It covers a lot of your leg and the pad covers part of your shin. Which, if you've ever taken a shinner from mountain bike pedals, is never fun lol. I think they look quite stylish as well. As with most Fox products, the minimalist approach to design is appreciated.My only gripe is that there are no velcro straps. I wish there was a velcro strap at the top to make sure they never fall down at all. You can help circumvent this if you wear a longer chamois under your shorts by putting it overtop of the top of the spandex part of the pads to help lock it into place. But an actual velcro strap (just at the top) would elevate these to the next level. You may have to adjust these on occasion, but it's rare enough where it's not a big deal to mess with it while taking a drink of water.I would recommend these to nearly everyone. If you're riding trails in the PNW, then these are perfect. But if you are hitting up Whistler or riding true downhill you should look for something with more protection. It will be less comfortable, but it's a bit irresponsible to ride in thin pads when hitting things that big. I also might look for something elsewhere if you ride on rock a lot. Say if you ride in Arizona on rock faces or something like that, you should probably look for a hard pad to combat that.
