The cover is heavy, and there are drawstrings and clips which go around the bottom legs of the sofa to keep the cover from flying away in the wind But even without fastening the clips, it would take more than just an average windy day to blow this thing away. I've been using it for about a month, I cover the sofa whenever rain is in the forecast. We've had plenty of rainy days, and even some torrential downpours. This cover has done a great job at keeping the patio sofa dry and protected from the rain. the material is also fast drying, even after a downpour it dries very quickly. It seems like the cover will last, obviously not a lifetime, but I think that I will at least get my money's worth with this one, Especially if I am careful with it and make sure that it stays clean and dry.
