Mix it with cold water till it is pudding consistency then let your body heat cause the henna to work. I wrap my head with plastic wrap and then put a shower cap over that to keep my head warm and to prevent dripping. I even do my eye-brows! (cover with plastic to keep them wet) One hour is enough but the color intensity might be more if you leave it longer. You can put an old towel on your pillow and leave it on overnight. Your hair will be well conditioned and curly hair will be straighter. Because it binds to the keritin in your hair it won't take a permanent wave and it may be harder to use chemical hair color until it grows out.
