I have never been able to sleep with any kind of brace on anything. This one, however, you can sleep with pretty comfortably. Writing is possible, but my penmanship suffers. I am able to use dressmaker shears while wearing this brace. I don't play golf, so I can't say for sure. The rigidity of the brace holds thumb straight. I can still flex the thumb joint closest to thumbnail. **Q: Made in China?** A: I honestly did not know it was made in China. I received this item and use it almost 24/7. My thumb is so sore from arthrist and wearing it helps with the pain. It is well made and comfortable. HIGHLY recommend this product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well for De Quervains *by S***A on March 6, 2026* I was diagnosed with De Quervains & my doctor recommended this brace to stabilize the thumb. I've been wearing it for 2 weeks and have felt a lot of improvement. My wrist pain was gone in 2 days but I followed doctors orders because its eady to retriever symptoms if you keep using your thumb! I got the large because I habe chubby hands and wrists. It fits well but it does slide if I dont tighten it too much. But you must be careful not to tighten it too much on the wrist. I did this and irritated the nerves that trigger carpal tunnel issues. Thankfully I corrected and it improved. I can still type with this brace just without using it thumb. The brace is comfortable enough. The material does attract hair and fuzz and does have some pilling after 2 weeks and one machine wash with hang dry. Lint rolling helps. Glad I got it.
