To make it usable, we’ve had to add folded pieces of cloth under the support that rests on the table, which helps a bit, but it’s inconvenient—especially when it comes to cleaning. I’m not sure if the one I received has extra slack in the fabric or some other issue, but I’m disappointed that it’s not comfortable for them. This is their encouraging answer! Rarely can you get a reasonably priced item without flame retardants, BPA, PVC and phthalates! The board is still MDF, but maybe it can be sealed to reduce off-gassing or left out of your home for a few days. MDF is always a concern for VOC and formaldehyde emiting. Thanks!** A: From the center of the clamp, you have a distance of 3.5 inches to the outside edge of the table. If you are concerned about whether you have enough overhang on the table, you need to add another full inch to accommodate the total length of the clamp that fits under the counter...you need 4.5 -5.0 of clearance under the counter.
