This is nice to replace your existing standard flat wall mirror with one that has these features. But be aware that the brightness claims regarding usage are definitely exaggerated. The pictures shown are not what we have experienced and we purchased six of them. We were disappointed. But because it took us longer than expected to get them installed we could not return them. Since we also have additional lighting in the ceiling it's not too bad. We are also considering adding additional lighting to help with makeup and shaving. **Q: Is the mirror recessed in the back such that it can be mounted flush to the wall without the wiring getting in the way?** A: You can hardwire it to your light switch, so nothing shows, my only complaint is the brightest light setting isn’t bright enough to do your make-up..I may upgrade after awhile. **Q: Does the light turn on with a wall switch without touching the dimmer?** A: Yes, it does. It has memory of the last light setting used. If connected to a switch it will go off as was last set from the front control button and on with the same. I did not connect it this way but the instructions have this clearly stated. Also, direction say they highly recommend the mirror NOT be the primary lighting in a bathroom. My guess is the reason for this, if connected to a switch and the mirror is turned off at the mirror front, the wall switch will not provide light until switched on at both the wall and mirror switches. **Q: What color is the frame?** A: There is white frosting but it is not a dream per se.
