I'm looking for a diameter no larger than 3/8 inches.** A: Hi, these pins are 1/2" diameter and work well. I purchased a 3/8" D aluminum pin set (Moroso 39000 3/8" Aluminum Hood Pin) from Amazon. Didn't like the shape of the hair pin, hard to pull out. **Q: When is item #42563 arriving** A: Last week **Q: Can I use these on a 2003 Honda civic** A: Well, I do not believe these pins are model specific. Most hoods have a contact spot where the underside of the hood touches a point on the body of the vehicle. Usually there are rubber bumpers of some kind at that contact point. If all else fails, you could use these pins at that point....or right next to it. There is plenty of length to the pins to accomplish this. The key is to install the pins first, then lower the hood to where the pins hit the underside of the hood and drill the proper sized holes at that point. My only disappointment in this process is that after a year or so, I began to see rust. I clean them off to get rid of the rust and then oil them to keep them shiny for awhile, but rust will come back. If there is a better quality pin, look for it. Can't help you further. Basic answer is: They should work on your Honda.
