If however, you are only placing one down at a certain time and not using the other sachets, you can just seal the pouch that they come in and place it in storage to use on another occasion. We would suggest you block any existing entrances in multiple places in order to achieve the best results. These would work better than a spray as you can place them in the smallest of areas and leave them there without the worry of staining or damaging any material or having to re-apply to get more results. The area they bedded down in has been tidied up and the rat deterrent put down and there has been no evidence of rats or mice since that time although it is easy for them to get in from outside as the garage door isn’t completely flush with the ground. I’m really not sure if the effect of the minty smell would be concentrated enough in an outside area such as you describe. This is just an opinion as I do not know.
