Review: Car stopped breaking down - My 2001 CRV was doing this scary thing where the engine would just lose power while I was driving it. Pretty scary on the LA freeway! Went into a shop and they said they think it miiiiiight be the distributor, but they weren't sure. They also quoted me 250 for the part and another 100 for the labor, geez. I watched a few YouTube videos, bought this, unclip one wire, unbolted 3 bolts, unplugged the wire, unclipped something, pulled the old one out, wiped away the residue in the hole, stuck the piece in, clipped, plugged, bolted, clipped and it was done. Super easy! Online videos did it in like 7 minutes, it took me 3 hours because I'm weak and things were stuck. Had to use a mallet to get the old distributor out. Overall, very happy. I've been driving around for over a month and no more engine failures! The car died on the road at about 2 3/4 years, whereas the original lasted about 19 years. I opened it up and found that the rotor set screw was gone and the rotor just rotated freely separate from the shaft.
