Box Brown is hitting it out of the park on this one. I wasn't floored by his (critically acclaimed) Andre the Giant biography, but TETRIS is a great page-turner that should appeal to any comic fan or lover of video games. It really gets into the psychology of game-playing and the effects it has on the mind. All this, and an in-depth examination of the history (as crazy as it is) of Tetris, from Russia with love! I highly recommend it for anyone even remotely interested in the subject matter, or even those who are not. You will be surprised at how much you enjoy it!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Games of the mind and mind games and subterfuge

I couldn't put this down and blazed through the whole book in a single sitting.It's a fast reader that covers broad concepts fairly succinctly and works as a great intro to the Cold War thriller that is the licensing battle for Tetris. If your curiosity is piqued, I highly recommend the more thorough dives into the story as written in David Sheff's Game Over Press Start To Continue or as filmed in the 2004 BBC documentary Tetris: From Russia with Love (which seems to be the beat-for-beat basis for this graphic novel).Box Brown's art is easy to follow and makes great use of comic panels to illustrate some of the more intellectual concepts at play. If I had to criticize anything, though, it would be that shifts in time or place are not always clearly delineated.
