We have 2 Pekingese dogs and 3 Persian cats and they all tend to get fur knots from time to time...no matter how well we brush them. The seam ripper is the best tool to deal with this occurrence. As noted in the other review, you have to be careful when using it on your pets but the seam ripper is painless and efficient (if it is sharp).My wife has always bought these at local hobby stores but they almost never have very many in stock or the right brand. The Dritz Deluxe Seam Ripper is perfect and we were able to order a good supply to last us quite a few months.
