I would suggest asking a fish/aquatic dealer for the kind that won't harm, discolor or perhaps rot in a terrarium for turtles. I could be wrong, but I sure would check. **Q: Could it be possible that ecosystem been harmed at all in the harvesting of this moss?** A: It's nice of you to think of the environment but no, it is not harmful. Pretty sure the company grows it themselves. **Q: Can u put the air plants directly in the moss?** A: I did & I've them maybe 6 weeks and they look fine. Haven't grown much tho.
