I use it on a 2014 MPB, OS Catalina. Didn't need to do anything and it's always worked a treat. I did have to buy a USB 3 to USB C adapter because I have an older Mac. So far so good, I'm not sure I'll be using all the memory immediately but it seems impressively easy to download my files and videos.The storage capacity is 2TB and I am using it it to make space on my laptop for simpler and easier processsing; seems to be freeing up space and making the speed of launching apps much quicker.
