You are able to move it still even with the panels tightened all the way. To help with this we just used some heavier duty double sided tape on the bottoms of the panels where they connect to each other. We haven’t had any kids hanging on it yet, but it deters our 18 month baby enough! The panels are removable which is nice. And we actually use the one panel to date our pup in during mealtime. Opens and closes just fine as long as you press the mechanism intentionally. You don’t need to lift it to open. Assembly was pretty easy as it comes with all the panels attached, so we just needed to take one out and mount to the wall. Our did come with mounting hardware as well! Including drywall screws. It’s great for my toddler that’s starting to crawl and furniture surf, also great to keep the dogs out of his play area! Very easy to put together, also very easy to take panels off to make it shorter or put panels on to make it longer! I got the black one and I’d say it looks okay in our livingroom. It’s also very easy to loosen it and fold it, push it to one side of the area you have it in so that way you can bring bigger stuff through. Only downside id say is to get little grippys to put on the bottom to help prevent it from sliding on hardwood/laminate floor. But definitely worth the money!
