These are the top of the line Nippon Kodo so use wisely or not as it all depends on you. The scent linger a long time, they burn in about 20 minutes to 25 minutes. Best meditation is 30 minutes, and 15 for a breather when you are more adjusted to Zen style meditation. Kayuragi is the best. The absolute best. The Japanese Cypress is fantastic and I do use it in place of sandalwood when I feel like a slightly different atmosphere. I have used a lot of different incense over the past 50 years, and as all things evolve so did my appreciation of not burning wood stick scents. They last longer but have heavier smoke and aroma. I developed a love and appreciation for the basically ancient craftsmanship and dedication to perfection of this level and brand. Meditating since I was 16 so I know my way around the brands and styles. On a budget it is hard to stay away from Nag Champa for a sandalwood blend, on a stick but it does not affect my breathing so something is done right.
